What's in the box

  • Grater body with suction base
  • Clear barrel and hopper
  • 5 stainless steel blade plates
  • Blade storage box
  • Food pusher
  • Crank handle
  • Cleaning brush
  • Non-slip peeler

Setting it up

  1. Press the suction base onto a clean, dry, flat surface and push the lever down. Give it a gentle push to check it is holding. It will not grip on wood, textured stone or a wet surface.
  2. Slide the barrel onto the base.
  3. Fit your blade plate into the drum carrier (see "Changing a blade" below).
  4. Slide the drum into the barrel.
  5. Screw the handle on.
  6. Load the hopper, press down with the food pusher, and turn the handle.

Let the blade do the work. Pressing harder does not grate faster — it packs the hopper and stops the handle turning.

Changing a blade

Your grater has one drum carrier and five blade plates. You do not swap whole drums — you swap the plate that sits inside the carrier. This is the part nobody guesses, and it is why the blades can feel stuck.

  1. Lift the handle off, then slide the drum straight out of the barrel towards you. It should not need force.
  2. Find the small tab on the side of the drum carrier. It sits flush and is easy to miss.
  3. Press the tab down. The carrier opens.
  4. Slide the blade plate in until it is fully seated. If it stops short it will drop out the first time you turn the handle.
  5. Close the carrier and press until it clicks.
  6. Slide the drum back into the barrel and screw the handle back on.

It clicks. If you did not hear a click, the blade is not locked in, and it will come loose while you are grating.

"My blades fell out after washing"

This is the most common message we get, and it is not a fault. Washing pushes the blade plate out of its seat. Re-seat it using the six steps above and listen for the click.

  • Take the blade plate out of the carrier before washing, rather than washing them together.
  • Dry both parts fully before reassembling. A wet plate slides back in but does not always seat.

Cleaning

  1. Unscrew and remove the handle.
  2. Slide the drum out of the barrel.
  3. Press the release button on the front of the base to free the barrel.
  4. Open the drum carrier using the side tab and take the blade plate out.
  5. Wash the blade plate, drum carrier, barrel and food pusher. Use the brush that came in the box for the blade plate — it clears the cutting holes from behind, which a sponge cannot do, and keeps your fingers away from the edges.
  6. Dry everything fully, especially the blade plate, before it goes back together.

The release button on the base is stiff when new. Press it firmly and squarely rather than at an angle. It loosens after a few uses — you are not going to break it.
